Thomas Homan
Thomas Douglas Homan is a former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Trump administration and a staunch advocate for stricter immigration enforcement policies. Known for his outspoken views on border security and illegal immigration, Homan has been a prominent voice in conservative circles, often appearing on media outlets to discuss these issues. In July 2024, Homan addressed the National Conservatism Conference, a gathering of policymakers, intellectuals, and public figures representing a diverse collection of figures in the National Conservative movement. At the conference, Homan spoke on the topic “What Congress Must Do to Fix the Southern Border, “where he mixed factual data with speculation and exaggeration, using emotionally charged language to frame immigration as a threat to both security and societal cohesion. Homan is also the president and CEO of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Border911 Foundation, Inc., described as:
…promoting extremist policies, such as declaring an invasion at the border, to elected leaders and law enforcement officials and falsely portraying the country as beset by voter fraud, according to a joint investigation by a multistate team of journalists from Lighthouse Reports, the Texas Observer, the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting, and palabra based on dozens of interviews, attendance of various Border911 events, and reviews of public records, videos, speeches, and social media posts.
