US Muslim Brotherhood Group Seeks Applicants For Influence Positions In Biden Administration

The US Coun­cil of Mus­lim Orga­ni­za­tions (USCMO), an umbrel­la group for the US Mus­lim Broth­er­hood, has pub­lished an online form for gov­ern­ment jobs in the incom­ing US admin­is­tra­tion as part of its “Empow­er­ment and Ser­vice” pro­gram. Accord­ing to the post on the USCMO website:

Are you an Amer­i­can Mus­lim who is apply­ing to serve in the gov­ern­ment start­ing in 2021? If you would like USCMO to encour­age the incom­ing admin­is­tra­tion to con­sid­er your appli­ca­tion, please sub­mit your infor­ma­tion below.

As part of the form, the USCMO is ask­ing appli­cants to list their desired func­tion and pre­ferred pol­i­cy areas, point­ing out that a direct appli­ca­tion with the respec­tive office or agency was still need­ed. It is not known how the USCMO plans to use any infor­ma­tion sub­mit­ted to it.

Pre­vi­ous Glob­al Influ­ence Oper­a­tions Report (GIOR) report­ing on the USCMO included:

  • In Octo­ber 2020, GIOR report­ed the USCMO had issued a state­ment sev­er­ing its rela­tion­ship with EMGAGE, a Mus­lim polit­i­cal action com­mit­tee co-found­ed by Biden’s senior advi­sor on Mus­lim Amer­i­can engage­ment, Farooq Mitha.
  • In the same month, GIOR report­ed that USCMO rep­re­sen­ta­tives par­tic­i­pat­ed in a meet­ing with Turk­ish Pres­i­dent Erdoğan at the Turk­ish pres­i­den­tial complex.
