As part of the form, the USCMO is asking applicants to list their desired function and preferred policy areas, pointing out that a direct application with the respective office or agency was still needed. It is not known how the USCMO plans to use any information submitted to it.
Previous Global Influence Operations Report (GIOR) reporting on the USCMO included:
- In October 2020, GIOR reported that the USCMO was the sponsor of a virtual meeting of numerous Global Muslim Brotherhood (GMB) leaders and representatives of international Muslim organizations tied to the GMB, including the Council of European Muslims and the Muslim Association of Britain.
- In October 2020, GIOR reported the USCMO had issued a statement severing its relationship with EMGAGE, a Muslim political action committee co-founded by Biden’s senior advisor on Muslim American engagement, Farooq Mitha.
- In the same month, GIOR reported that USCMO representatives participated in a meeting with Turkish President Erdoğan at the Turkish presidential complex.
The USCMO is comprised almost entirely of elements of the US Muslim Brotherhood. For more info on the USCMO, go here.
