TASC and MÜSIAD Sign Cooperation Memorandum

On April 8, 2025, the Turk­ish-Amer­i­can Nation­al Steer­ing Com­mit­tee (TASC) report­ed on its web­site that it had signed a mem­o­ran­dum with the Inde­pen­dent Indus­tri­al­ists’ and Businessmen’s Asso­ci­a­tion (MÜSIAD) to strength­en the Turk­ish dias­po­ra in the Unit­ed States and enhance social and com­mer­cial activ­i­ties. We are pleased to announce the sign­ing of a mem­o­ran­dum between the Turk­ish-Amer­i­can Nation­al Steer­ing Com­mit­tee (TASC) and the Inde­pen­dent Indus­tri­al­ists’ and Businessmen’s Asso­ci­a­tion (MUSIAD). This agree­ment aims to strength­en the Turk­ish dias­po­ra in the Unit­ed States and enhance social and com­mer­cial activ­i­ties. We believe that this valu­able coop­er­a­tion will con­tribute to the uni­ty and sol­i­dar­i­ty of the Turk­ish-Amer­i­can com­mu­ni­ty, sup­port exports, and bol­ster the suc­cess of Turk­ish busi­ness­peo­ple. The mem­o­ran­dum is expect­ed to cre­ate new oppor­tu­ni­ties in trade and social engage­ment while fur­ther strength­en­ing eco­nom­ic rela­tions between Türkiye and the Unit­ed States. We extend our grat­i­tude to TASC Co-Chair Sey­it Sahib and MUSIAD Pres­i­dent Mah­mut Asmalı for their efforts in mak­ing this part­ner­ship pos­si­ble. MÜSİAD (Turk­ish: Müs­tak­il Sanayi­ci ve İşadamları Derneği) is a Turk­ish businessmen’s group found­ed in 1990 that aims to cre­ate a syn­the­sis of busi­ness and Islam­ic con­ser­v­a­tive val­ues. It pro­fess­es not to be a polit­i­cal orga­ni­za­tion yet has sup­port­ed the AKP finan­cial­ly, been sup­port­ed by Pres­i­dent Erdoğan, and MÜSİAD lead­ers have left their posi­tions to become AKP politi­cians them­selves. MÜSİAD’s past lead­er­ship has includ­ed trustees of Glob­al Mus­lim Broth­er­hood orga­ni­za­tions and coor­di­nat­ed dona­tions for the 2010 Gaza Flotil­la. MÜSİAD has offices through­out Turkey, many in Europe, and one in the US.
