Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood Scholar Suggests Ukraine War Instigated by Jews to Create State in Ukraine

MEMRI, an Israeli NGO that trans­lates for­eign media, is report­ing that a Pales­tin­ian schol­ar has claimed in a Turk­ish TV inter­view that Jews insti­gat­ed the war in Ukraine to estab­lish a Jew­ish state in Ukraine, replac­ing Israel. Accord­ing to the MEMRI report:

March 22, 2022 [Mraweh Nas­sar] explained that the Jews have been for­sak­en by Amer­i­ca and the West, who have come to real­ize that the Zion­ist project is a fail­ure that will come to an end with­in two years. He elab­o­rat­ed that the Israelis have thus realigned with Rus­sia and Chi­na. In addi­tion, Nas­sar said that the Jews have been “con­vinced that Pales­tine can­not be the state for the Jews” and now claim that Ukraine is a Jew­ish state and that the Tem­ple and bib­li­cal Jerusalem are, in fact, locat­ed there.

Mraweh Nas­sar is the Sec­re­tary-Gen­er­al of the Jerusalem Com­mit­tee of the Inter­na­tion­al Union of Mus­lim Schol­ars (IUMS), an inter­na­tion­al body of Mus­lim the­olo­gians based in Doha, Qatar, whose lead­er­ship is close­ly tied to the Glob­al Mus­lim Broth­er­hood (GMB). Until recent­ly, the IUMS was led by GMB spir­i­tu­al guide Youssef Qaradawi. Sev­er­al promi­nent Euro­pean Mus­lim lead­ers tied to the GMB were IUMS mem­bers and/or have served as IUMS Trus­tees, includ­ing for­mer Oxford Uni­ver­si­ty Islam­ic Stud­ies pro­fes­sor Tariq Ramadan and Ahmed Jabal­lah, a senior leader in the French and Glob­al Mus­lim Brotherhood.

Dur­ing the inter­view, orig­i­nal­ly broad­cast on the Turk­ish pro-Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Chan­nel 9,  Nas­sar also said the Holo­caust was “false,” stat­ing that the Ger­mans did­n’t kill near­ly as many Jews as peo­ple claim. He also added that it was Jews who for­sook the Ger­man Jews in WWII, much as they were for­sak­ing Ukrain­ian Jews today. Ear­li­er in March, Pales­tin­ian jour­nal­ist Samir Al-Bargh­outi made a sim­i­lar claim in the Qatari state dai­ly Al-Watan, writ­ing that the Jews had begun migrat­ing to Ukraine to turn it into a place sacred to them and that the real rea­son for the Russ­ian inva­sion of Ukraine was Pres­i­dent Putin’s desire to pre­vent the Jews from estab­lish­ing a pres­ence on Rus­si­a’s border.

In a Feb­ru­ary 2021 inter­view with Chan­nel 9, Nas­sar said that the world had to be “cleansed” of Jews before Mus­lims could have true peace, call­ing them “the most dan­ger­ous ene­mies.” In May 2021, the Glob­al Influ­ence Oper­a­tions Report (GIOR) report­ed that Nas­sar, again speak­ing on Chan­nel 9, advo­cat­ed killing all Jews liv­ing in Pales­tine, includ­ing men, women, and chil­dren. Also, in May 2021, the GIOR report­ed that the IUMS had post­ed a pro­posed Fri­day ser­mon on Jerusalem that includ­ed incite­ment to vio­lence and jihad, adding that who­ev­er was unable to come to the bat­tle­front him­self had to help the fight­ers with money.
