NYC Mayor Received Funding from US Turkish Influence Group

It turns out that the NVC May­or had received dona­tions from the Turk­ish Amer­i­can Steer­ing Com­mit­tee (TASC), revealed as part of the FBI probe into his cam­paign’s con­nec­tions with Turk­ish donors. On 30 Novem­ber 2023, DailyMail.com report­ed that the FBI is exam­in­ing con­tri­bu­tions total­ing $18,000 received by Adams’ cam­paign between 2018 and 2021 from TASC and oth­er Turk­ish sources. The cam­paign returned $5,000 of these funds to com­ply with dona­tion lim­its. The Turk­ish Amer­i­can Nation­al Steer­ing Com­mit­tee (TASC) describes its mis­sion as “to pro­mote and ampli­fy a unit­ed Turk­ish Amer­i­can voice on issues that affect the Turk­ish Amer­i­can com­mu­ni­ty and Unit­ed States-Turk­ish rela­tions.” Its lead­ers, how­ev­er, reflect close ties with Turk­ish Pres­i­dent Erdoğan.
