The Global Influence Operations Report (GIOR) has published the first in a series of reports on the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe titled “Europe and the Global Muslim Brotherhood Part 1: European Governmental Funding.” According to the report synopsis:
The Global Muslim Brotherhood (GMB) is a transnational network of political Islamists tracked by the Global Influence Operations Report (GIOR). The threats to European civil society posed by the GMB include hindering the integration of minorities, inciting conflict between ethnic groups, fostering hatred, and incubating terrorism. Tracing and identifying funding sources for the GMB is one of the most challenging tasks for OSINT analysts. Nevertheless, GIOR research into the GMB has identified a variety of funding streams, one of which is European governments. This report documents a total of €79,551,732.50 in funding for the GMB in Europe provided by the European Union, the Council of Europe, and various national governments since 2004.
