GIOR REPORT: Europe and the Global Muslim Brotherhood Part 3: Cooperation Between US and European Muslim Brotherhood Groups

The Glob­al Influ­ence Oper­a­tions Report (GIOR) has pub­lished the third in a series of reports on the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood in Europe titled “Europe and the Glob­al Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Part 3: Coop­er­a­tion Between US and Euro­pean Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Groups” Accord­ing to the report synopsis:

The Glob­al Mus­lim Broth­er­hood in the US and Europe have been in con­tact for many years but, until recent­ly, were not known to have for­mal­ized their rela­tion­ship, either by form­ing joint orga­ni­za­tions or under­tak­ing joint polit­i­cal activ­i­ty. This end­ed in 2016 with the inter­na­tion­al “Mus­lim Coun­cils in the West” con­fer­ence that brought togeth­er US and Euro­pean GMB lead­ers intend­ing to form a per­ma­nent assem­bly. Although this body appears nev­er to have been cre­at­ed, the last two years have seen increased coop­er­a­tion between US and Euro­pean GMB groups. This coop­er­a­tion has involved both polit­i­cal col­lab­o­ra­tion and par­tic­i­pa­tion in var­i­ous joint events.
