EU Agency Says Russia Shifting From COVID Disinformation To Promoting Its Vaccine

EUvs­Dis­in­fo, a project of the Euro­pean Exter­nal Action Service’s East Strat­Com Task Force, is report­ing that pro-Krem­lin media are try­ing to gen­er­ate sup­port for the Russ­ian Sput­nik V COVID vac­cine by shift­ing its dis­in­for­ma­tion nar­ra­tives. Accord­ing to the report:

Decem­ber 21, 2020 Over the past few months, pro-Krem­lin media have been bombarding(opens in a new tab) audi­ences at home and abroad with spu­ri­ous claims con­cern­ing the glob­al dri­ve to curb the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic through mass vac­ci­na­tion. It has come a long way; from ampli­fy­ing con­spir­a­cy the­o­ries about the ori­gins of the coronavirus(opens in a new tab) to fuel­ing anti-vac­ci­na­tion moods(opens in a new tab) in spring, it has now entered a new phase of promotin(opens in a new tab)g the Sput­nik V vac­cine to glob­al audiences.
