Liga Kultur (LK) (Cultural League)

Liga Kultur (LK) (Cultural League) is an Austrian Islamic cultural association founded in 1998 with branches in Vienna and Graz. It emerged from earlier networks such as the Islamische Union in Österreich and was established to promote cultural exchange and integration. Austrian documentation centers identify LK as a founding member of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe (FIOE)—an umbrella structure widely viewed by scholars and intelligence agencies as part of the Muslim Brotherhood’s transnational network. Reports note that LK leadership has overlapped with Brotherhood-linked figures and that its contact details appeared in FIOE internal documents. Several analyses describe LK as one of the Brotherhood’s primary affiliates in Austria, though the organization presents itself publicly as a cultural bridge-builder.
